About Us

The Name

We get asked all the time what Tah Tete means. The English don’t get it and the French think we can’t spell. Well we have a perfectly good reason for naming the business Tah Tete. In English Ta Tete (without the h at the end of Tah) literally means Your head. We added the H because it spells Hat backwards as the logo implies with the direction of the arrows. So its kind of French/English slang for Hat Head.

The History

When we first started the company in April 2004, we only embroidered on caps (hence the company name). We soon discovered more and more people wanted other items embroidered. Shortly after we started embroidering everything from towels, bathrobes and shirts to blankets, bags and yes caps. But no we don’t embroider mugs (we actually get asked that)

The City

Located in the heart of downtown Montreal, Tah Tete prides itself on the repeat business from its local community. From artists to thugs, corporations to individuals Tah Tete has embroidered many different designs from many different walks of life. We thank you Montreal for your constant strong support and for allowing us to provide you with the quality embroidery that you deserve.

The World

Situated in the middle of a hallway at the Montreal Eaton Center in downtown Montreal, Tah Tete has embroidered tens of thousands of articles that have been around the world. Many of our embroidered hats have seen the jungles of Africa or the plains of Scotland and have brought smiles that only personalized gifts can.

The Staff

Tah Tete is proud to say that we have very little turn around when it comes to staff. We are here to provide you with the best possible embroidery you can get on the spot. It takes months to train our staff to properly operate the embroidery machine and more importantly the expensive software that makes on the spot embroidery possible. Even if we might be a little cranky at Christmas (when things get quite hectic) we still manage to provide you with the quality embroidery you deserve.
